About the Institute of Biblical Studies

Institute of Biblical Interpretation is a part of Blessing Global Assembly of God Church and a place where you as a follower of Jesus are challenged to deepen and broaden your commitment to God. We offer courses dealing with all facets of Ministry, Counselling and Worship. We endeavour to teach students how to recognize the call of God in their lives. As a student you will study, pray, debate, laugh, cry and grow with us, your faith family, as we spur one another on to a greater obedience to God.

At IBS, we believe in raising up faithful, committed men and women who have a passion to serve. Through intentional equipping, practical training, and personal mentoring, we help prepare them to carry the love and hope of Jesus Christ to communities across India and to the nations beyond.

Our vision is to see these leaders impact villages, towns, cities, and entire nations — bringing transformation, healing, and the message of God’s kingdom wherever they go.

Why we exist?

IBS equips, trains and releases faithful, able men and women into the nation of India and other nations, to impact villages, towns, cities and nations for Jesus Christ.

Our purpose is to provide a God-focused and Bible-centered environment with a strong emphasis on spiritual life, prayer, evangelism and other basic aspects of discipleship. We help establish a spiritual foundation and then equip students to apply the principles of God’s Word in their lives and ministry.

Our Institute is a place where students are exposed to the gifts and workings of the Holy Spirit, and obtain knowledge in sound biblical doctrines and theology. It is a unique practical learning environment in a multicultural/ethnic setting.

Our Doctrine

The Bible is inspired by God and is "the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct"

There is only one true God who exists as a Trinity.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and, as the second person of the Trinity, is God.

Man was created good by God but was separated from God through original sin.

Salvation "is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ".

There are two ordinances. Believer's baptism by immersion is a declaration to the world that the believer has died and been raised together with Christ, becoming a new creation. The Lord's Supper is a symbol expressing the believer's sharing in the divine nature of Christ, a memorial of Christ's suffering and death, and a prophecy of Christ's second coming.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a separate and subsequent experience following conversion. Spirit baptism brings empowerment to live an overcoming Christian life and to be an effective witness.

Sanctification is, "...an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God." It occurs when the believer identifies with, and has faith in, Christ in his death and resurrection. It is not believed to be a "second definite work of grace" (see Finished Work), as in some other Pentecostal denominations, but is understood to be a process in that it requires continual yielding to the Holy Spirit.

The Church's mission is to seek and save all who are lost in sin; the Church is the Body of Christ and consists of all people who accept Christ, regardless of Christian denomination.

Divinely called and scripturally-ordained ministers serve the Church.

The "imminent and blessed hope" of the Church is its rapture preceding the bodily return of Christ to earth.

The rapture of the Church will be followed by the visible return of Christ and his reign on earth for a thousand years.

There will be a final judgment and eternal damnation for the "wicked dead".

There will be future new heavens and a new earth "wherein dwelleth righteousness".

Rev. Dr. A. John Periyasamy (M.Div)

Founder & Principal

Rev. Dr. A. John Periyasamy holds a Master of Divinity from Southern Asia Bible College, Bangalore, India and Received Honorary Doctorate from El Shadai New life Theological college from Bangalore for Theology Reaserch and Bible Secret and serves as the Founder and Senior Pastor of Blessing Global Assembly of God Church.

Deeply committed to theological education, he has contributed to the training of ministers through his association with Calvin Theological College, Bangalore from 2001 to 2004 and Timothy Bible College, Tirupathur, Tamil Nadu. Since 2003, he has equipped more than 500 pastors, emerging Bible professionals, and church leaders through his teaching and mentoring ministry.

In 2022, through the Institute of Biblical Interpretation, he trained and certified 32 pastors, further strengthening the body of Christ and advancing biblical leadership for the next generation.
